NSRMTA Scholarship Competition:
The Scholarship Competition will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2012 (and Friday evening, May 25, if necessary) in the Elsie MacAloney Room at the Dal Arts Centre, Halifax. Student entering must be studying with an NSRMTA member.
Five scholarships may be awarded annually:
- One Advanced Scholarship of $200 for students at the ARCT or Undergraduate level of study.
- One Senior Scholarship of $150 for students at the Grade 9 & 10 levels of study.
- One Intermediate Scholarship of $100 for students at the Grade 7 & 8 level of study.
- One Junior Scholarship of $50 for students at the Grade 5 & 6 level of study.
- One Preliminary Scholarship of $50 for students at the Grade 3 & 4 level of study.
Students Must Submit:
- Completed application form.
- Competition entrance fee:
- Advanced $30
- Senior $25
- Intermediate $20
- Preliminary/Junior $15
Competition Programme:
All students are required to perform THREE contrasting styles from a current recognized Syllabus, one from each category:
- Baroque
- Classical
- Romantic OR Modern
No studies or concerti for piano. ARCT piano sonatas are limited to 2 consecutive movements only. Voice or other instruments: perform THREE contrasting styles according to your Syllabus.
Time Limits:
- Advanced: 45 minutes
- Senior: 30 minutes
- Intermediate: 20 minutes
- Junior: 15 minutes
- Preliminary: 6 minutes
